By Matt Heard on Friday, May 28, 1999 - 05:03 pm: Dolly the cloned sheep appears to picked up aging right where her mother (hereafter referred to as Dolly Sr.) left off. In captivity, a sheep will live, on average, 13 years. Dolly Sr. was 6 when her cells were harvested, and Dolly Jr. is now 3. Researchers suspect that she is genetically 9 years old (6+3), and will begin to experience aging-related disorders. |
