The history of the mint plant
Dr. Eaton watched the mint plant in the present cultivated
form in Hertford/England first. Having given a first describtion of the
herb in 1696, the British biologist Ray (lat.:Raius)
named it Mentha palustris, Peper-Mint in 1704. The
pharmaceutical author Dale from Essex pointed out the healing effect
of the mint-plant as early as 1705. Today the mint plant is spread all
over the world.
