Kunming Lake

It occupies about three quarters of the whole area of the palace. On the lake, there is West Dike and Six Bridges, East dike, Seventeen-arch Bridge, Island of South Lake, etc. Most of them were built according to the ones in HangZhou. It has been said that there wasn't any lakes have at first. The Kunminghu lake has been the result of digging work, and the earth from the lake made up the Wanshoushan Hill. And the lake and the hill together form the beautiful views of the Summer Palace.
