The highest mite allergenic concentrations were found in
mattresses. A comparison of water beds, foam rubber
mattresses and spring-interior mattresses showed no
advantages for one of the three amttress types. The regular
use of an electric blanket was able to lower the allergenic
stress by 50-60%
A sensible alternative for the lowering of the allergenic
concentration seem the synthetical bed covers, which are
impermeable for mites. In covering especially of the
mattresses an improvement of the condition of the patients
can be reached.
Efficient, but unfortunately connected with a loss of life
quality is the complete redevelopment of the bedroom. That
means the removal of all carpets, curtains, sofas, mattresses
and other dust catchers as well as reducing the room
temperature and the humidity. Isolated measures like
hoovering, even with high performance machines, or the
application of machines, which reduce the humidity don't
help.
An efficient result can't be confirmed for chemical
acaricides This is because only the mites at the surface,
e.g. of a mettress will be killed. Mites in deeper layers
won't be reached and survive.
Recent studies confirm increasingly, that a complete
absence of allergenics can't be reached. |
