Availability of Coal

Currently, coal can be found virtually anywhere in the world. However, significant coal deposits are limited to Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia. China possesses the most extensive coal supplies. The United States also houses abundant coal deposits. Experts believe that the supplies of bituminous coal could last up to 200 years given current use, although the rapidly increasing population trends suggest that the estimate could be quite optimistic.
