Dureza moved his family to Jersey City in 1987
only to find out that hiring in architecture and construction was
getting scarce. He turned to painting portraits and more
watercolors. He made a successful one man show at the Philippine
Centre in 1988 and has participated in several group shows in New
York and New Jersey and won prizes in juried shows. He works at
his home in Secaucus, NJ and teaches drawing, watercolor
painting, and drafting in the evenings. He is a member of the
Hudson Artists, Inc. and an associate member of the New Jersey
Watercolor Society.
