Pantheon

The Pantheon is an ancient Roman temple in Rome. Construction was completed in 126
A.D., and the temple was dedicated to all of the Roman gods. The temple is made up mostly
of brick and concrete. The building is circular with 142 feet in diameter and 142 feet in
height. The top of the Pantheon has a massive dome.
The Pantheon was originally used as a temple, but then it became a Christian church from
609 to 1885. After that, it was used as a burial place for many famous Italian people,
including the painter Raphael. Even though it is old, many of the engineering techniques
that were used in its construction are still used today.
