Kremlin

Russia’s Kremlin stands in Red Square in Moscow.   It is a fortress built in the late 1400’s.  Architects were called from throughout Italy and Russia to design it.  What they accomplished is a building with great beauty represented in its domes and lavish decoration.  The building itself is triangular and about 1½ miles around. In the 1900’s, communists closed the Kremlin to the public.  This locked them out from seeing the crowns, jewels, and paintings that the czars owned.  But parts of it were reopened in 1985, letting the public again see the beauty of the Kremlin.
