Michelangelo's "David"

"David"

Michelangelo Buonarroti sculpted David (over 16 feet high) between 1501 and 1504. David is Michangelo’s most famous sculpture, and is depicted as very muscular and alert – as if to be carefully watching Goliath in the distance, like it is written in the Old Testament. Being that this sculpture was built during the time of the Renaissance, one can notice how the statue expresses the belief in human dignity and amplitude.
