Sedimentary rocks are just layers of dirt, sand or little pieces of rock that is compressed very tight to form a single rock.

FORMATION
Sedimentary rocks are formed somewhere where there is loose bits of sand, dirt or little pieces of rock.
Also it needs an area of pressure where the rock can compress like a very deep ocean
The dirt falls on the bottom and accumulates layer after layer while the pressure compresses it
