METAMORPHIC ROCKS
rainbow bar WHAT THEY ARE
Metamorphic rocks are rocks that start out in the three normal processes and are changed by heat and pressure. They change by being submerged under more current layers of rock, until they get deep enough to melt and compress.

FORMATION
A rock is altered to being subject to heat and pressure
Usually because of contact with something like lava
It melts a little and has a chance to crystalize or add more pressure

METAMORPHIC ROCKS
Shale to Slate
Limestone to Marble
Sandstone to Quartzite
