Janet L. Schottel

Janet L. Schottel earned a Ph. D. from Washington University in 1977. She is currently employed as a professor of biochemistry at the  University of Minnesota.

Ms. Schottel's main interests in the area of research include mRNA stability, Plant-Pathogen interactions, and individual gene expression. She is now working on identifying RNA sequences and/or structures that direct the rapid decay of mRNAs.

She has collaborated with many of her colleagues as well as working independently to write several reports on the subject of what effects DNA, RNA, and what diseases.
