Dr. Helen Quinn

Helen Quinn was born in Australia. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford in 1967. She went to Harvard four years later. The standard model came about from the research of Salam, Glashow, and Weinberg. The model proves you can find particles never seen before by smashing particles. An SLAC machine helps with the standard model now. The SLAC smashes   protons and electrons and will be useful in discovering particles that have not been discovered. Helen works with elementary and high school teachers in California to make physics fun and exciting for students to learn and use.
