Kate Kirby

Kate Kirby is a wife, a mother of four children, and the perfect example that females can accomplish anything if they set their minds to it. Her job is associate director of the CfA's   Atomic and Molecular Physics Division. In this job, she oversees the division's research projects and serves on a number of scientific committees and professional societies throughout the U.S.

She is particularly interested in the manifestations of the global changes that are in the Earth's atmosphere, and outside and away from work she can often be found at her children's sporting events, dance recitals, and piano lessons.

Kate Kirby is co-director of ITAMP with Mikhail Lukin, an ITAMP member and a Professor in the Harvard Physics Department.
