Bridgette A. Barry received her Ph. D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984. She now works as an associate professor of biochemistry at the University of Minnesota.
The main area that she focuses on in her research is
photosynthesis.
She says that the research is set to focus on the membrane proteins that carry out the initial, light driven reactions
in photosynthesis.
In the last few years, her research has moved to focus on the mechanism of water oxidation in the photosystem II reaction center.
