Okinawa Prefecture places on the most southern and western extremity of Japan, and the warm chain of 160 islands . Islands only belongs to subtropical zones in Japan. About 129 million people lives there, and sea area reached about 400 km in north and south, 1,000km in east and west.
Okinawa is blessed nature by its temperature, then about 387 million tourist comes to see emerald sea and white beach every year. The island called "Ryukyu" and the island was the Ryukyu Kingdom that loved peace and had no weapons in ancient. The Ryukyu Kingdom was unitied by Hasshi Shoh in 1429, and the kingdom's center of politics was Shuri castle. And inhabitants in Ryukyu were known peaceful, they treated visitors with the utmost courtesy. @
Then for a long time, Ryukyu had build original culture by cultural exchange with Southeast Asia and so on. For example, there are Shudun, Eisah, Bingata, lacquer, earthenware, shamisen. But now, Okinawa become a bases island, because bases hold 11% of all area of Okinawa and there is the biggest air force base. And, inhabitants call theirselves "Uchinanchu", and they call Japanese except them "yamatonchu". That is to say, they separate them and Japanese except them. We visited Okinawa with the intention of meeting inhabitants of Okinawa and listening their thought about U.S. Military Bases. However, the status quo wasn't as soft as our thought.
