Althrouth Okinawa was reversed, situation of military bases wasn't changed
much. The land was compulsorily used by the U.S. Military for increased
rent. There were continuous problems such as currency change, crime and
accidents by the military. Many Japanese who worked in the base lost their
job in the streamling. Overall, Okinawa was much more than half of Okinawan
people thought the reversion was not good, while more than half of them
looked forward to the reversion earlier. As a result of this, in habitants
was confused all the more, and they
were disappointed. |
