Yomitan Auxiliary Airfield, located roughly in the center of Yomitan village, has a 2,000 m long runway and a 1,500 m apron. However, the airfield is aging and is not used by fixed wing aircraft. In the past, accidents caused by parachute drop training exercises occurred continuously, but today no parachute training exercises are conducted. It is now a jointly used facility agreed under Article 2 paragraph 4(a) of SOFA. Within the airfield, an exercise park, including a baseball field, and a village office have been built.
