FAC 6009 Camp Schwab


Live firing and amphibious training exercises are conducted on this base. The December 1996 Final Report of the Special Action Committee on Okinawa (SACO) proposed a sea-based facility that would replace Futenma Air Station. The proposed relocation site in the waters off Camp Schwab has created a tense situation for not only the citizens of Nago city but for all Okinawans.

d) Yearly rental fee: 1.679 billion yen
e) Number of (Japanese) employees: 145 persons
