BLUEPRINTS: Aerodynamics

What is Aerodynamics?

Aerodynamics is most easily defined as a science which addresses the motion of air and forces influenced on bodies as they move through the air.

Bernoulli's Principle

Daniel Bernoulli was a Swiss mathematician, who died in 1782. His death occurred the year before the first hot air balloon was ever launched. His principle was not developed with "flying machines" in mind. Bernoulli's principle essentially states that as the speed of a fluid increases, the pressure exerted on a body will decrease.

The concept of decreasing pressure with increasing speed is pretty much the entire foundation in understanding how an airplane will fly.
