The idea of building space stations has been around since the reality of space travel came into existence. The exploration of the universe has been enough encouragement to further space travel but th e need to find new places to live also creates a strong drive to explore space. Humans have, over the years, depleted the Earth of the natural resources needed for use, therefore, the desire to establish a way to live in space indefinitely is not just for the sake of scientific research, but for the sake of mankind.
