The search type
allows you to select which method you wish your search to found.
Each method produces different results and searched in different
ways to the other.
Search for 'phrase':

This option will
make the search engine look through the site for the exact phrase
that is written in the search field.

Having a larger search string using
the 'phrase' option will retrieve little or no matches this is
because the larger the phrase, the less chance there is of actually
finding a match.
Search for 'words':

This option will
make the search engine look through the site for occurrences of one
any one of the words in the search.

So if you enter many words it is
probable that you will find many matched. But if you enter only one
word it is likely that you will find only a couple of
matches.

- Any non
alphanumerical character will be stripped from the search field
before the search commences, all with the exception of the space
character. So if you try to search for '
help?' the search
will remove the '?' then commence searching for 'help'.

- The search is case insensitive, so
having capitals in your search will make no difference to the
number a matches you get.

- You must enter a search phrase
when you search for something or you will just be given an
error.
