| The
Zandkreekdam connects the islands Noord-Beveland with Zuid-Beveland with
caisson-components. Before the Veersedam could be built they first have to close the
east-side. Thus to prevent the current of the outgoing water to become too high. This dam
is named the Zandkreekdam. This Zandkreekdam was made by great uniform caissons. The
effect of this process was that, in the last part the same amount of water had to flow
through a smaller, not yet closed hole in the dam. |
