Zandkreekdam

GeneralThe planThe construction

The Zandkreekdam connects the islands Noord-Beveland with Zuid-Beveland with caisson-components. Before the Veersedam could be built they first have to close the east-side. Thus to prevent the current of the outgoing water to become too high. This dam is named the Zandkreekdam. This Zandkreekdam was made by great uniform caissons. The effect of this process was that, in the last part the same amount of water had to flow through a smaller, not yet closed hole in the dam. luchtz.jpg (8912 bytes)
