Fishery, so
important before the disaster of 1953, has slidely collapsed. Of course there are hundreds
of fishermen who sail out, but it isnt as good as it used to be. Some species become
rare and only big firms with big trawlers remain profit giving. Although all of this there
is that Zeeland feeling inside of the men who fish. This everlasting struggle against sea
and the fact that "the sea gives and the sea takes" has give an extra dimension
to the lives of the fishermen in Zeeland. Therefore many of them remain fishing in the
waters of Zeeland. |
