Necklines for evening were generally low with square, round or v-shapes. Hair was full and loose around the face, fastened into a chingnon or bun at the back of the neck. The pompadour style with hair built high in the front and sides around the face was indicative of this era. Hair ornaments included jeweled ornaments, feathers, and small pearled 'Juliet caps'.
