Origin and Development

                                 Today the kite is only a toy for most of people.

But history tells us that kite has been more than a toy.

 

Long-ago people learned to use the power of wind for movement of ships. Kite was the first aircraft which used wind.

From one's point of view the kites appeared over three thousand years ago in China. All the right materials were found there. Chinese used bamboo for the frame and silk for  the sail and bridle.

From the other hand there is opinion the kites were invented in the fourth century B.C. by Arhit Tarensky - Grecian mathematician, mechanical engineer, astronomer and general.

At first a kite had a mythical and  religious sense.

The earliest authentic mentions about first kites' launching correspond to the second century B.C. Namely it was their using in the battle by Chinese general Han Hsin.

From the 18th century kites were on the science' service.

In the 19th century kites were used by aicraft engineers and researches.

Unfortunately, in the 20th century adult people have forgotten the kites.

Only kids sometimes play with these strange toys. We are going to invite you in childhood!
