I don't think God exactly said that "Go and clon yourselves and produce new life." God did say that humans are to be like Him, but I dare say that you are misinterpreting the statement. You gotta look at the Bible from a pont of view that sees God as the Almighty One-and-only Creator and everything as mere creation. In that case, trying to be "like Him" via cloning is nothing but blasphemy itself. And Remember: "to be like Him" does not mean "be exactly as He is." I don't know how much you know about the Bible and its proper interpretation, but your argument sounds like a New Age Movement (e.g. We are all gods, etc.).
