May God forgive YOUR ignorance of the Way he works.
I'm sorry if you feel that what I am about to say is harsh, but I feel that the last thing the world needs right now is the kind of Dark Ages-Doomesday-Woe are we-Let's hope that Jesus comes to make everything better type of dogma that has done nothing for the spiritual growth of people at any time in history.
I am spiritual, not religious. Religion IS a crutch. It places God "out there" and not in the only place he can be in our lives, our hearts.
To take the Bible so literally is not to pay homage to God, to show Him how much of a believer you are. To read the Bible so literally is to , if not destroy the wisdom it offers.
I do believe that Jesus lived and died for our sins. HOWEVER, his resurrection was a SPIRITUAL one, experienced only by those who believed in Him. To pray for Jesus to return in the flesh is not only misguided, it is dangerous, for it focuses your attention to where He is not...'out there'. Jesus lived on Earth to set an example of how a life could be lived, by believing in yourself and the Will of God through Man.
Responsible science IS the Will of God through Man. I feel that if Jesus is watching and listening to prayers for his physical resurrection, he must be greatly saddened. For I believe that he always intended His resurrection to be a spiritual one, through Us.
