The current estimated <A HREF="../glossary.html#population" TARGET="eslist">population</A>. is unknown. People don't know whether they are increasing or decreasing in number. There's not that much information regarding how this trout became endangered.

The Cutthroat differs from all the other trout by their irregular small to medium size spots. They also don't develop brilliant colors like the inland cutthroat trout, which is a separate subspecies.
