The Forum of Caesar
Built by Julius Caesar, 46 B.C., when the only forum, the Roman Forum, was no longer large enough for the whole city. It underwent various restorations and alterations in the imperial times. One of the temples that once stood there, only three columns of the temple remain was the Temple of Venus Genetrix, which was dedicated to her, since he claimed descent from her, and because she had often helped him in the wars. There also stand a great bronze statue of Julius Caesar himself, which marks the forum.
