RESEARCH. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology offers a summer research program for students interested in mathematical, physical, and biological sciences. The students work for ten weeks in MIT laboratories under the direction of scientists and engineers. The program provides a stipend of approximately $300 per week, travel expenses, and housing. Students must have completed their sophomore year with at least a B average, and have a genuine interest in research and teaching in mathematics, physics or biology. The application deadline is January 15.
