Tutorial
Before you enter our site here is a guide to using "Mars: Mankind's Future Lies in Space"
Our site is optimized to run on Internet Explorer 4.0. Due to the many competing standards of code writing for websites, we were not able to accomodate all aspects of our site into every platform. Although the site will run fine on Netscape Communicator 4.0, there are some effects, like dynamic HTML, page transitions, active X that will not show up. These effects add to the quality of our site and make the viewing experience more enjoyable.
Most of the images on our site have captions that will pop up on top of the image if the mouse pointer is held over the image for a few seconds.
Most of the banners and pictures including text are actually hyperlinks although they may only look like images. You can tell if an image is a hyperlink if when you move the mouse over the text in the image or the image itself, the pointer changes to a hand.
The best settings to use on your computer when viewing our site is 16 bit color mode, 800x600 resolution with the browser maximized on the screen. These settings can be adjusted in a PC running Win95/98/NT by right cliking on the Desktop and clicking properties. From there, go to the settings tab and make the necessary changes. In windows 3.1x go to the control panel and adjust the display settings. For Mac users, go to the apple in the top left of the screen and scroll down to control panels and adjust from there. Although our site is coherent and readable at any setting, the aforementioned settings are for optimum viewing pleasure.
Our site incorporates many additional plugins for browsers. In order to fully experience our site you will need to download some plugins for your browser if you do not already have them.
Real Audio and Video (5.0 or G2)
VRML Plugins (Cosmo Player 2.1)
Quicktime Virtual Reality and Quicktime Movies
MPEG and AVI viewers
