Hockey Stick

stick1.jpg (4281 bytes)        The selection of the sticks is based on the individual which depends on the skating style. Usually if the stick feel "right", chances are you have picked out a right stick. Different hockey sticks have a definite angle between the blade and the stick. The smaller the number the wider the angle is, and skaters generally use sticks with lies 4,5,6,7 or 8. If a skater like to skate close to the ice or like to carry the puck far out in the front, then a lie 4 would be the perfect choice. An average skater uses lies 5 or 6. However if a player likes to skate straight up or likes to carry the puck close to their skates then it's recommended that lies 7 or 8 to be used. The sticks are made right, left, and neutral according to the need of each individual. The stickhandle should be taped so that it can be gripped more firmly, and the same goes for the blade so that the puck won't slide off easily from the blade.
