Here we have some of the best QBasic programs from all over the Net! But remember, while you enjoy them, don't forget to take a peek at the code too! We are giving you these programs to study so you can improve. By the way, all items are copyright to their respective authors; we are merely making them available to you. Thus you must seek their permission if you want to use their code. We take no responsibility for any damage caused by them (or you, for that matter), and no credit for their work. So sorry to put this here, but laws are laws.

We also thoughtfully included email links to the authors if possible, so that you may email them to send them comments. A lot of work has gone into the creation of this library, and we hope you enjoy your stay here.

Finally, some programs here, due to the immense number of files required, come in .zip format. You will need Winzip to unzip them. It can be found at http://www.ipswitch.com.

Last Fantasy Fighter

In this fighting-style game, players select a character and do special moves to defeat the computer. However, the keyboard commands are hard to learn and confusing - That might put people off.

5 Card Draw

This card game is incredibly realistic and great fun! It is of so superb quality that it looks like a Windows Program! Try it!

The Mystic Adventure V1.0

A text-based adventure with minimum graphics. A bit boring perhaps, but the programming is good. One major flaw: the programmers do not give specific directions on what to input! I got very confused and fustrated while trying to play this. Other than that, it's quite okay.

Asteroids

Excellent Game! This shoot-em-up boasts cool graphics and sound with lots of little asteroids whizzing about. A tiny complaint - it tends to run a little too fast on faster machines.

Dark Ages V1 & V2
QB Kick- Program!

The Dark Ages series is a very good tile-based RPG. It incorporates fights, inns, spells and a good plot and storyline. What more could a gamer ask for? V2 is the latest version of Dark Ages; it has more monsters such as the Acid Slime, and different weapons. A truly outstanding game that proves the power of QBasic.

Dark Woods

Dark Woods is a text-based game where you have to kill the Red Dragon and his hordes. The interface is quite boring; the game is text-based. However, the programming is quite good, look through it. Some special effects such as melting in there.

The Game (Demo 2)

An excellent game by Tsatumo the QB Programmer. It has wit, humour, and nice graphics and gameplay. Players control 3 characters in a FF7-style-interface that allows them to talk, move, fight and do other actions. Unfortunately it's not finished; Tsatumo says he's working on it.

Dungeon of Motion and Sound

This is a simple text-based adventure with a few graphics. A bit silly, perhaps, but somewhat fun. A good try for a game, although a bit short and easy. It also has the same problem as Mystic Adventure: commands are not clear!

Kal 4

In this game, you must eradicate aliens before they murder you. Excellent space-flight simulation, abeit alien encounters are few and far between. Ingenious use of mouse and mouse drivers.

FF3 RPG

A cool game based on the FF3 engine, this game boasts lots of spells, magiks, weapons, towns and monsters. The only complaint I have is that the combat sequences are too slow, and maybe the map looks bad.

Gorilla

A Math game that involves hurling of Banana Bombs at enemies. Somehow this reminds me of Worms 2.

A truly superb RPG that boasts dropping, equipping, healing, many different monsters, giant maps, and an engaging storyline with over 150 special items to be garnered! Excellent! Stupendous! I can't think of anything better!

Lith 2

Lith 2 is an engaging dungeon game set in a mysterious castle. It makes ingenious use of keyboard commands to simulate a maze in which players explore, searching for the answer to the castle's mystery. A very good game.

Star Wars

A must for every Skywalker fan! In this game you are Luke and your mission is to kill stormtrooper after stormtrooper, then Darth Vader. It can get a little boring at times. . . but never mind that. May the Force be with you!

Doom Simulation

This unique attempt at creating a 3D world in QBasic is a wonderful effort on the part of Raycaster. Kudos to him! Abeit the fact that there are no monsters here. . .
