The Flood

All humans except Deucalion, son of Prometheus, and his wife Pyrrha turned evil. Prometheus could look into the future and knew that Zeus was planning to drown the earth, so he told Deucalion to build an ark to board when the rains come. Deucalion did as his father advised. For nine days and nine nights, it rained. On the tenth day, the rains stopped and the waters receded. Decalion and his wife stepped out from the ark, onto the human-less world. They came to a temple, lit the sacred fire in the altar, and prayed to the gods for saving them. Zeus felt sorry for them and told them to throw the bones of their mother behind their backs. Deucalion understood and threw rocks behind him. Pyrrha did the same. Behind Deucalion grew men, and behind Pyrrha sprouted women. The new race of humans were made of rock, and better withstood the evils of the world.
