Read the car owner's manual before attempting to repair your car. Keep the manual in the glove compartment.
Read the entire procedure before beginning and familiarize yourself with the safety precautions. Use the correct tools, do not use makeshift tools.
Keep a fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit nearby

Do not use heaters for an open flame. If a heater is required, use an electric heather and position it away from the car.
Allow the car to cool down before working under the car. Allow approximately 90 minutes before opening the radiator cap.
Do not work under a car supported only by an emergency jack, cement blocks, or a makeshift stand. Use ramps if necessary. Chock the wheels.

Work in a ventilated area. Do not run the engine in a closed garage.
Do not wear loose clothing or hanging jewelry. If you have long hair, tie it back.
Catch draining fluids in a basin and discard them properly. Wipe up spills immediately.
When jump-starting a car, wear protective goggles and gloves to prevent sulfuric acid burn. Do not smoke.
When making an emergency repair on the roadside, disconnect the negative battery cable. The fan can turn on even after the engine is turned off.
