Welcome to the basics class. In our first lesson today, we'll discuss the electrical system and how it ties in with everything else. To start a car, the driver puts the key into the ignition lock and turns it. This closes a switch which allows electricity to flow from the battery through wires to the electrical starter motor, which starts the engine. This is called the ignition system.
