Electrical System Overview
The alternator is the electrical system's main source of power while the engine is running. It generates energy by allowing its shaft to be driven by the same belt that spins the fan. It converts mechanical energy into alternating-current (AC) electricity, which is then channeled through diodes that alter it to direct current for the electrical system and for recharging the battery.
