Creation vs. Evolution

It was also once thought that the embryo provided strong evidence for evolution. Now, it's not even a question. The theory, called embryological recapitulation, was that as the human embryo went through its stages of growth, it also went through time. As the baby develops, it was thought that it went through the stages of human evolution history. It starts out as a single cell, later it looks like a fish with gill slits, then it looks like a tadpole, then a reptile, then a ape, finally becoming human. This theory was very popular during the eighteen hundreds. Now though, evolutionists admit that this theory has been disproved. There are no gill slits on the embryo, there are a series of bars and grooves, but these never open into the throat and become slits, and never become gills. Also, the teeth develop after the tongue, the blood vessels after the heart, and the nerve cords develop after the brain, the opposite of what you would get if the embryo follows human evolution.
