Listen to an Underwater Volcano Erupt!

You can hear the sound of an undersea volcano recorded by the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory! Read on to find out how!

We have several options for listening to the volcano. We recommend the RealAudio version, as you don't have to wait for the whole file to download, and you can listen with a Mac, a UNIX computer, or a Windows computer. You do need to have Real Networks "RealPlayer" installed beforehand to listen to the sound. You can download the most recent version of the RealPlayer from <http://www.real.com/products/player/>.

Click on the link below that best suits you! The sound will open in a new window. Close the new window when you are finished listening.

Macintosh/UNIX/Windows RealAudio file (streamed audio): volcano.ram - 32K

Macintosh AIFF file: volcano.aiff (download) - 108K

UNIX/Sun AU file: volcano.au (download) - 108K
