Return to the Surface

It's time to go back to the surface now. The pilot has dropped the second set of steel weights and emptied the ballast tanks. We are slowly ascending. The sea color outside our windows is changing from blackest black to deep blue-green to aqua, and then becomes clear. We can hear the mother ship's engines. Back on the surface, the divers will attach the lines for the hoist. We'll be aboard the large research ship soon.
