Hong Kong is located at the mouth of the Zhu Jiang  or Pearl River in Southeast China.  It is 90 miles south of Canton (Guangzhou). 
Hong Kong consists of many islands in addition to areas on the mainland. Hong Kong is a part of China after the handover in 1997.
