COSATU COSATU is a trade union federation, and there are about 1 million workers from 14 unions. It supports the principles of non-racialism and one industry one union. COSATU wants to enable workers to fight for their rights in the work place and in communities. COSATU works with other people's organisations like the UDF, SACC (South African Council of Churches), and the NECC in a broad front against Apartheid. COSATU also organises unemployed workers, domestic workers and farm workers, because these workers have few rights.
