Presently, Comerford's work is involved with socio-political issues which are quite subtle. He has also moved into colour, as previously he worked largely monochromatically. He feels that by moving into colour, he will be able to expand his personal style. He also explains his move into colour as a reflection of a more colourful society. He is no longer involved in brutal images. He primarily wants his images to be enjoyed by the viewer.
Comerford sells and shows his works through self-run exhibitions and at exhibitions at certain local and international galleries. He also runs Hard Ground exhibitions. For these he produces already-packed, immediately available works, which is a new concept specific to printmaking. This is because in printmaking multiples of the same image are created, and yet each image is an original.
