Danny Day I (like Joanna and Talitha) have lived in this country for my entire life, first in Cape Town, then in Pretoria. Like the others I was shocked by how little I seemed to know about the mechanisms and horrors of Apartheid, this project has helped me learn what I didn't know. Even though I wasn't involved in the research first hand, meeting Joanna made me feel like I'd been visiting the various artists and museums all along. I'm grateful that I could learn more about South Africa, but stunned by how much work this project blossomed into. I'm glad we finished it: it's been difficult, but fun.
