I must say I am quite disappointed with your entries on the Colosseum. You failed to put in the importance of the Colosseum's material roof. That roof which you only included in one picture had a hole in the center. Now, in Rome it can get up to 105 degrees farenheit, and the Roman people sat around all day watching these games. If they did this without cooling, they would die of overheating. Another thing, lions smell REALLY bad. And they have documented cases of the Romans putting 100 lions out in the center of the arena. And the rich people sat in the front! They would have been the first to smell that horrible stench, but they never did. You see, that roof was held up by ten-foot poles, and when wind from on top of the hills of Rome hit the Colosseum, it would sweep down the crowd through that 10 foot gap created by the poles, cooling the people off. By the time it got to the Arena Floor, it had become warm, and then would rise up through the hole in the center of the roof, carrying the stench with it. That in itself was a great achievement of the Roman Colosseum!
You also failed to put anything about the gladiators and beasts coming in through elevators (considering the Romans built the Colosseum in the first century AD, this was an accomplishment). You also failed to discuss about how the Colosseum could be emptied in 5 minutes because of the efficient design of the exits. However, considering that this site deals with all architecture, I'd have to say that the colosseum was mediocre at best.

Whoa. This web site completely blew my mind. I was so completely stoked when my friend sent me the link to this page. We were discussing my two favorite loves, history and architecture, when she was like, "Check this page out, man. Get this, it's the history...of architecture!" I didn't think it was possible to combine the two, but the makers of this page have done an excellent job. Coincidentally, if you love discussing history and architecture, and would like to talk about it over, say, breakfast, drop me a line. THIS PAGE RULES!!! ARCHITECTURE RULES!!! HISTORY RULES!!! I LOVE YOU, CHRISTINE!!!

Very Good Site my friends. Keep up the good work. I have a castles site at www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/2795, It is a site about some not so well know European Castles.. I have not entered it onto the Internet yet because I have not completed the site, also because of the international obligations I have not completed a bibliogragphy. When I do it will become a site for all educational purposes. I have included on my site a link to a non-professional site concerning American Castles visit both sites and learn about our architectural history. Also keep looking to my site as I will include the original Frankenstiens Castle! Also on my personal home page I have a link to the Internets best site to Mythology.....it is called Persius from Tufts University. Again enjoy and keep up the good work!.......P.S. Maybe add Angkor Wat to your site. It would be a great test for you...Is it Chinese, Japanese, ?????????.....Hmmmmmmm maybe Cambodian..........
