| Plato's Thoughts On Society
"Cities will not have no respite from evil, my dear Glaucon, nor will the human race, I think, unless philosophers rule as kings in the cities, or those whom we now call kings and rulers genuinely and adequately study philosophy, until, that is, political power and philosophy coalesce." This is part of Plato's theory on an ideal society. He states that this theory can never be a reality, but they "can exist precisely in practice." (Remember that Plato tried and failed to educate Dionysius II, the tyrant of Syracuse, in a philosophical way.)
