As for spud's santa claus wrench into the works, well some kids are frightened and some not, whether they have seen santa before or not.
What is this human nature that you speak of? Why is it afraid of the unknown? And why is the unknown automatically compared to some sort of bad experience, unless we already know that it is unsafe to venture there?
