Does anyone think that knowing has to do with fear? I mean, why should I fear something unless I know what it is that I am afraid of? Yet, even as children we are afraid of spiders and snakes as opposed to animals like rabbits and kittens. Why should we have an instinct to fear these creatures, when they are just "other" creatures? And why does there seem to be a natural fear of the dark or the unknown, unless we first "know" that the unknown might not be safe.
