Your friend insisted on making a moral judgemnet out of it becasue you insisted on implying a moral judgement out of it. Your argument walked down the sidewalk, walked up the drive and stood at the door; did everything but ring the bell of a moral judgement. If you had rung the bell you would have answered the door, "well isn't it wrong to hur the cat becasue it is wrong to hurt yourself?"
Don't tell me you weren't trying to make that point just becasue you didn't say that point. I don't fall for that Socratic mumbo.
